WDC UPDATE: 2025 YEAR END

We have accomplished so much!

Thanks to everyone who worked hard for Westmoreland Democratic Committee this year, from Primary Day to Election Day and all of our events and meetings in between!

We had Democrats at all of our polling places to make sure like-minded voters felt welcomed within their communities. We had one of the most successful Crab Feast Fundraisers EVER, we were present at most local festivals and events, we planted candidate signs all over the county and worked hard to get them distributed at our meetings and local events, we even had a debate watch party to witness the historic (yet infuriating) debate between two female Gubernatorial candidates!

Reorganization is coming!

As discussed at our last business meeting, all Democratic Committees must disband and reorganize every two years (at the end of odd numbered years) so we are making preparations to dissolve our current Committee and start fresh in 2026!

EVERY CURRENT MEMBERSHIP WILL END THIS YEAR! THIS MEANS YOU!

To continue your membership, you must fill out our online membership form for 2026-2027 before January 2, 2026, to be included in the list of NEW Committee members during our assembled caucus, which will be held on January 10, 2026 at a location TBD.

If you would like to join the leadership team (Executive Board) for WDC, we will also be voting on new officers for the following positions*:

• Chair (preside over meetings, administrative director of Committee)

• Vice Chair (assist Chair, preside in Chair's absence, fundraising lead)

• Treasurer (manage and report on Committee finances and membership)

• Recording Secretary (keep attendance, minutes and quorum tally)

• Corresponding Secretary (handle correspondence to and regarding Committee)

We will also be recruiting members to join the following sub-committees after our caucus is finished and our new members have been elected*:

• Membership (recruitment and engagement)

• Program (planning meetings, speakers, etc)

• Voter Registration/Training (recruiting and educating new voters)

• Fundraising (helping with events and fundraisers to fund the budget)

• Audit/Budget (auditing finances and creating annual budget)

• Bylaws (4 total members, 1 must be on Executive Board - review and amend bylaws as needed)

All caucus forms and rules will be posted on our website and shared via email communication prior to the deadlines set forth by the DPVA's Party Plan.
